dreamweaver and godaddy ftp
Today I visited SEVERAL posts on how to correctly log into godaddy. Nothing worked. I broke down and called godaddy customer service. 5 minute wait, not bad, I guess. José, was a bit on the snippy side - must have had a bad night.
We eventually figured out that the HOSTING PASSWORD needed to be changed. This is different from the godaddy SITE password that the client gave me. I was using that password.
So there are TWO DIFFERENT passwords and you need to know the HOSTING password in order to correctly ftp into their site.
Also, the ftp Host MUST be the original domain name that the account was registered under, NOT THE DOMAIN NAME YOU’LL BE WORKING ON.
Like so:
Host: clientdomain.com
Host Directory: /
Login: same_name_as_godaddyusername
Password: hostingpassword
Hope this helps.

Hi, Thanks for the information.
I’ve been using Godaddy Grid Hosting with Dreamweaver for a few months.
Strangely this morning the site info in Dreamweaver had disappeared.
I’ve spent hours trying to remember and find out the settings.
Most information is similar to yours but it doesn’t work for me.
So frustrating …
