days without a job

I used to be a really good Lotus Notes Domino developer. This was about five years ago, when I was laid off from an awesome company. They were closing their doors, and we all got canned.
I took off on my own, as a web developer, developing in php. At first I did okay. Recently though, I find that I have neither the desire nor the capability and — most humbling of all — nor the brain capacity to develop code.
Has my brain gone rusty? Lazy? Stupid? All of the former. I can’t even get my head around coding a simple two-level drop-down navigation menu. I scour the internet for code to adapt, and even that, my brain is too lazy to do.
What gives?
